1399. A steak tenderizer, patent number 525,595, the plates pivot so that they can be cleaned, they can also be removed to sharpen the teeth.

























1400. This tool was used by a shoemaker for forming the shank during the second lasting operation, patent number 1,486,801.

1401. The building is part of a glass container plant in Indiana, the unusual structure is most likely for ventilation above the furnaces.

1402. These are all for tying corn shocks made from thirty to forty bundles each. The shocks were temporarily tied with rope and one of these tools, they were next tied with binder twine and then the rope and tool were removed for reuse.
